HAMILTON COUNTY, Tennessee(WDEF) -  A late morning head-on-collision backed up traffic for nearly an hour on the interstate.

It happened on I-75 just south of the Hamilton and Bradley County line.
A witness said a car traveling north bound spun out of control, cross the grass median and then drove into Southbound traffic.

"He swerved behind us and almost hit us and then then he went across the road and to oncoming traffic and hit an SUV," said Jordan Williams.

Jordan and other passengers who were traveling with her called 911. They were the first people to try and help the crash victims. Minutes later, a military convoy arrived on scene and began helping Jordan and her friends tend to the crash victims until EMS arrived.

One person who appeared to be a young female was visibly injured.
The crash caused Southbound traffic to be backed up for several miles.

So far, there is no word on what caused the crash.

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) - Interstate 24 was backed up in both directions for several hours after a semi lost control and took out a concrete barrier.

It happened in the Westbound direction at the Ridge-Cut. It appears the driver lost control of truck and crashed into the barrier that separates both directions of the Interstate; leaving a massive opening in the concrete wall. After hitting the barrier, the truck jackknifed against an overpass barrier.

Traffic was backed up for several miles in both directions until crews could clear the scene.

So far, there is no word on any injures or what caused the semi to crash.
