(WDEF) The Chattanooga Urban Search and Rescue team wraps up its intensive training this week with a trench rescue.
We caught up with members as they trained near the Moccasin Bend Wastewater Treatment Plant Wednesday.
Trench Rescue Instructor David Bishop explained, "Individuals working in trenches putting pipes in the city, outside the city, not too long ago they had to go out to Collegedale they had an individual who fell in a trench box and it fell in under him, collapsed him in there."
All of the hard work wraps up this Friday with a realistic scenario where the students must rescue a worker who's trapped under tons of dirt.
