Losing wedding rings can be devastating. And a Cleveland woman found out just how awful that loss can be while she was out running errands with her family.

Renee Hunt, Ring Owner said, "My hands were a little dry, so I took my rings off and kind of forgotten about it. Got in conversation with my husband, and I had to stop by Target and get something, and when I got out at Target I just hopped out of the car." It was paying at another store when Renee realized she lost her rings. Hunt said, "We ran back to Target and we looked. And we looked. People started helping us look." After a few hours, Renee lost hope and thought she would never see her rings again. Little did she know, Nancy Stecz and her son Jacob, had picked up her rings in the parking lot.

Nancy Stecz, Ring Finder said, "When we went home, we called Target because we thought that someone would be looking for them, and our plan was to call the local stores here and see if anyone came in." Stecz said she didn't leave a description of what they had, just that they had found some jewelry. Hunt said, "How meaningful it is when somebody takes the time to do the right thing and they didn't have too, they could have pawned it very easy." However that idea never even crossed Stecz's mind. Stecz said, "There is no way we would keep it. I mean you have to be honest. I wanted to enstill that on my children that, that is the right thing to do."

After a conversation on the phone, Stecz took three of her kids to meet with Hunt at Denny's to give her her rings back. Stecz said, "And oh she cried and she was so excited. Then I felt so good because I have jewelry from my grandmother and if I had lost it I would be devastated too, so I can empathize with her." Stecz's son Jacob said "I'm very proud of my mom for being an honest person and teaching me this lesson. She's raised me to be honest."
