Just for the record the "fight" was not physical. Balde was not even near "woman" when flagged down officer arrived,2ndly he was not yet wearing vest until back up arrived, children were removed by woman not by any police officer or w/ 1 finger lifted by 1 to help move them to safe spot aka side of building, children nor woman were in any physical danger unless officers shot, balde was unarmed except with a bb gun (w/out bbs btw)balde was not homicidal and at no point said he was gonna harm any1. he was suicidal asking to be shot. Im not saying that what happened was right but just throwing some facts out there...

Please help! On October 25, my son, Billy Massengale, lost his dog, Loki. He’s completely distraught – Billy and Loki are devoted to each other and basically inseparable. I just wonder, when you are out in the field working, running errands around town or enjoying an evening out, if you should happen to see a dog that resembles him, would you please call me? Night or day, it doesn’t matter. 423-704-2002 Loki got out of Billy’s house (corner of Melinda and Locksley, off Highway 58, near the Highway 153 interchange) on Saturday night, October 25 and we’ve heard absolutely nothing since. Billy and I have and will continue to visit HES, McKamey and River every other day walking through and looking at every dog they’ve got. We’ve posted and reposted on Facebook and Craigslist and have put dozens of flyers (I’ve attached one) out at businesses all over the Hwy 58 area. However, after this long we know he could be anywhere… Loki was wearing his collar with current rabies, City and ID tags – and he’s microchipped! I don’t understand why we can’t find him – we’ve done all the right things… Either someone has him and, because he’s such a sweet and friendly dog, that person is ignoring Loki’s ID and keeping him, OR…. well, the unthinkable. Please, if you have ever had a treasured pet, then I know you understand the anguish both Billy and I are feeling. If you should spot him anywhere at any time, PLEASE call either me (423-704-2002) or Billy (423-718-1127) day or night – it doesn’t matter… Thank you for all that you do! Ashame that you didn't do a follow up or investigation on this. You would have found out that the people that were pushing for drug tests were voted out. You would have found out that the president had not taken a drug test. That the county had cut there grant due to mishandling of the funds. That the department is not following state regulations for training.

In what state of affairs would it put someone at 57 years old if he has worked several years in Chattanooga and have to move to another city or lose his job? This includes selling of our house and finding a new place to live at the same time, starting all over with all new roots. Not to mention the worst being not having a job at all to go to.

Floyd working for the sherrifs office has ALOT to do with it. 1 shot would have got the dog off the calf and off his property. He wanted the dog dead, that's obvious but cattle is expensive and Floyd had the right to shoot it. Its sad, but like with everything its about politics and money.

I am unsure what the reporter thinks the relevance is that one of the parties works at the Sheriff's department. That has nothing to add to the facts of the situation: that the family had a vicious dog...not leashed or confined to their property but, in fact, trespassing on a neighbor's property and attacking his livestock which WAS legally fenced in in his property. In any state it doesn't matter where you work, even if you work for the sheriff's department you are legally entitled to be free from harassment or attack especially when you are legally on your own property. It seems that WDEF, in the guise of their reporter/employee, is supporting lawlessness and criminal activity. If this is not true I firmly and respectfully suggest that you encourage you reporters that they not see themselves as a sort of Geraldo investigating man's supposed inhumanity to man and to, in a sense, stick to the elements of the story which are relevant to the story and not wander off into creating by insinuation a problem where one already exists.

It is also worth noting that people should be held accountable for their mutts. The irresponsible expectation of having dogs at the expense of others is a hallmark of being trash... frequently of the trailer variety, in 'these parts'. Mr. Floyd is probably telling the truth about what happened during this shooting incident; but even if he isn't, good for him. So, someone is supposed to just be OK with the idea of an unleashed PIT BULL (lmao) being able to wander onto his/her property at any time? Regardless of the presence or absence of a leash law, if an unleashed pit bull wandered onto my property and displayed any aggressive behavior at all, it would be dealt with the same way Mr. Floyd dealt with his problem. Wow... the nerve of some imbeciles.
