(WDEF) The Chattanooga Zoo reopened Wednesday, and to celebrate, the Zoo offered free carousel rides all day.
Tuesday the Zoo announced it had to close the exhibits temporarily.
That was so the USDA paperwork could be resolved.
Zoo officials said the paperwork was mailed in three days too late.
Executive Director Darde Long said, "Sometimes you wish you could take that day back that you forgot something, but in our case we were really pleased to see how many people out there actually support the Zoo and took this in stride with us and hopefully that support's being rewarded by being able to come out and visit us again so soon."
The Chattanooga Zoo gears up for its second annual "Q and Brew" at the end of the month.
The Zoo fundraiser is a barbeque and beer tasting event.
It happens Saturday July 27th from 4:30 until 7:00pm.
