TRENTON, GA. (WDEF) --- Chattanooga and Hamilton County leadership paved the way for successful business recruiting, and other cities are taking note.
One of the smallest counties in our area has jumped to the head of the pack by developing a bigger industrial park and a video to tell that story.

Little Dade county, sometimes called the Cornerstone community of Georgia took a hit 5 years ago when a large carpet company shot down and left 400 people jobless.
Now, leaders are preparing for new industry and jobs with a 200 acre industrial park and an 8 minute video on youtube.
The video rightly brags about Cloudland canyon, popular caves, Covenant college, the Flight park, and small town atmosphere. The goal is to tell industrial clients about the nearby I-59 interstate, Dade's proximity to big cities and the fact that a million dollar bond issue can help cut through paperwork for a new plant.

TED RUMLEY, DADE CO.COMMISSIONER "If we could get another 2-300 jobs..400, maybe a thousand..it would bring totally new life to Dade county....jobs is money."

Nathan Wooten heads-up the Industrial Development Authority.

NATHAN WOOTEN, CHAIRMAN, INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT "Now we have, what we think is a good package..to sell..for our county."

Rumley and Wooten both praise former county commissioner Peter Cervelli for creating new ways to promote Dade county.

PETER CERVELLI, EXEC. DIR., DADE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT "Government regulations are minimal in Dade county..and we are ready to work with you about your future plans...please contact us."

Dade leaders are also hoping Volkswagen suppliers will look at their new industrial park as the big auto plant looks toward expanding even more."

Cervelli says even the 5-thousand dollar video was made by a Dade county production company headed by Chuck Peters.
He says Peters was selected over several other production houses who priced the video at 20-thousand dollars.
