The economy may be the winner this Valentine's Day.
Americans will spend an estimated $18 billion on treats for that special someone.
That's according to the National Retail Federation.
While the candy, flowers and cards are the biggest buys...sparkly trinkets are a go-to gift.
The folks at Rone Regency have been hopping.
They tell us Valentine's day is the second biggest jewelry holiday, after Christmas.
It's also the second biggest month for engagement rings.
Bob Mason, Rone Regency President, "We love it. It really gives them a lasting memory though too. They give them a bouquet of flowers or some chocolate and it's gone relatively soon, but a piece of jewelry lasts a lifetime and it's always a fond memory."
This year shoppers are expected to spend four billion dollars on jewelry. And restaurants pick up about 3 point six billion dollar from people eating out.
