Walker County Messenger, Catoosa County News Owner Files Bankruptcy

    The parent company of the Walker County Messenger declares Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
     News Publishing Company is based in Rome.
     It also owns the Rome News Tribune, the Catoosa County News, the Calhoun Times and other Georgia newspapers.
     The company president said the bankruptcy filing guarantees that the business will continue.
     He said this will come out of the bankruptcy filing as a stronger organization.
