Alexian Brothers Senior Ministries breaks ground on a $32 million expansion.
The expansion will add a brand new health and rehabilitation center.
Officials say the new addition will give the senior care facility more of a "homelike" feel.
It will also add to Alexian Brothers' memory care services.
The entire expansion has already been paid for.
Brother John Howard serves as Community Director for Alexian Brothers. He explains, "Once the new edition is completed, what's going on over here is we have people using rooms with two in a room, now they'll have private rooms. We have the rehabilitation program going on here, it will have its own section now, which be ample. Right now they're using hallways, you know, for walking people."
The project is expected to take two years to complete.
About 575 workers will be involved.
