(WDEF) The sidewalks became works of art at Fresh on Fridays.
Several artists tried out for the chance to take part in the sidewalk art event.
Five were chosen to turn iconic Chattanooga landmarks into under-feet chalk masterpieces to enjoy hopefully at least through the weekend.
Leann Vineyard Cooper is one of the chalk artists.  She said, "Well it depends on the weather.  If it doesn't rain it will be here for a little while.  Sometimes the pigments stain the concrete and you'll be able to see like a little ghost effect for a while.  My son did one at home and it lasted eight months."
You can check out the sidewalk chalk art at Miller Plaza.
