I used to work overnights for 92.3 several years ago. Every morning, Luther brought me breakfast and always had a big smile and a warm greeting. If he had a critique, it was given with kindness and it was always clear that he was trying to help me improve. I never heard a harsh word from him. He was such a gentleman.

My deepest sympathy to the Masingill family and the entire news team 12 family(especially Chip Chapman with whom Luther had a special bond. When I was a small child I watched Luther everyday and he was a movie star to me here in Etowah, TN. That was 60 yrs ago. The noon news will not be the same without him. He will be missed at that time everyday of the week by my family. R.I.P. Luther

It has been a long time since I have lived in Chattanooga, but always enjoyed listening to Luther everytime I came home on leave. He will certainly be missed, and impossible to ever replace. My thoughts and prayers go to his family, and may the Lord of all accept him into the Enteranl kingdom with open arms. Very Respectfully R. Lee Linebarger SFC (Ret), USA

I'm just "nobody" but, I can't imagine what life will be like without hearing or seeing Luther everyday. Praying for their family.

I was a young reporter at WDEF in 1998. One afternoon, our news director at the time, was a yelling at the reporting staff over something inconsequential. When Luther walked into the newsroom, he shut up. We all got back to work. Such was the power of Luther. Andrew Harrison, Jackson,MS

As I watch WDEF this morning it is apparent how hard this tribute is for the news team. A brother has been lost but Luther's love will forever remain with his WDEF home and with his family. My condolences to all whose life he touched so graciously. I first met Luther when he came to Soddy Elementary School and had lunch with some of the faculty in the cafeteria. He spoke with each child in line, including myself, I remember arriving at home that evening, telling my mother that I had met a movie star, Luther Massengill. I was so excited. God loaned him to us for a little while and his family shared him with us for which we are thankful. Frankie Pope, St Elmo

The Obomba Doctrine is a smashing success! Funny low information yet basically conservative citizens are still under the delusional thinking that this chaos is a simple matter of inexperienced leadership.
