(WDEF)  Fort Ogelthorpe residents will pay a bit more for their sewer service.
That was approved Thursday morning at a special called meeting.
City Manager Ron Goulart said the average bill will increase by a little more than $2.00 per month.
He said there are three reasons the city must adjust the fees, Fort Oglethorpe buys water from TennAm so when prices go up, that must be passed along.
Plus the city pumps its waste to Chattanooga to treat the sewage.
That fee also increased this year.
And Fort Oglethorpe must ensure its rates cover the city's water and sewer bond.
