FORT OGLETHORPE, Georgia(WDEF) - A man who was arrested for criminal trespass, illegally discharging a firearm and making terroristic threats is now on the run.

Authorities  said Joshua Bradford, 28, escaped custody after he was transported from the Dade County Jail to Hutcheson Hospital.

According to investigators, Bradford overpowered a jail transport officer inside the emergency room then ran into a wooded area behind the hospital.

Authorities found his shoes in the same wooded area he was reported running through.

So far, law enforcement from Catoosa, Dade, Hamilton and Walker Counties are taking part in the search. GBI and Georgia State Patrol are also actively searching for Bradford.
