The freight train had sounded its horn repeatedly while the truck remained in the middle of the railroad crossing.

Traffic along Highway 11 was held up for a number of hours with one lane open
Some local residents could not get home.

Rhonda says anyone who lives near a railway line needs to take care.
"Be careful and make sure you stop before you go over the train track and look both ways, its very dangerous"
The line was cleared later on in the evening and engineers inspected the damage.
