(WDEF) An environmental group filed a petition to halt the re-licensing of the Sequoyah nuclear plant.
The Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League filed the papers Tuesday.
Members say the old plant design is outdated and should be shut down as soon as possible.
The group also claims that TVA hasn't adequately shown that it will maintain an acceptable level of safety at the plant.
