East Ridge officials also hope to get more businesses... now that they've purchased a 30-acre tract of land from T-DOT.
The land is near the I-75 exit, just to the left of Camp Jordan.
The city plans to sell the land to the Wolftever Development group.. Which will turn it into retail space.
But, it's not going to happen anytime soon.
East Ridge City Manager, Tom Gobble says, "I don't anticipate that the developer will do anything until at least 18, sometime between the period of 18 months to 3 years. Development process takes time and a number of hurdles will have to be overcome by the developer in regard to development of the land with TDEC and some other issues."
Gobble could not comment on any possible stores that could be coming.
But, he says there's been some interest from certain companies.
