The quest to make Chattanooga Whiskey in Hamilton County wages on.
Last month 7 of the 9 Hamilton County Commissioners signed a letter for the state legislature asking to allow a distillery in Hamilton County.
The decision is now in the hands of the state delegation.
But state representative Richard Floyd (R-Chattanooga) says he still thinks a distillery is the wrong fit for the community.  He said Friday, "All you gotta do is say, "well, this is a jobs bill", well it is a jobs bill. You look at the people that alcohol impacts: (potentially impacts), uh, let's see, lawyers, doctors, emergency room workers, EMT, policemen, firemen, undertakers, uh, news people. I'm mean, yeah, alcohol impacts a lot of jobs."
The owner tells News12 the Chattanooga Whiskey distillery would be built on the south side of Chattanooga.
