(WDEF) An Apison hero gets one step closer to living a normal life.
Volunteers with Steps2Hope kicked off a week-long construction project Thursday morning to build Specialist Andrew Smith and his wife Tori a brand new home.
Smith lost both of his legs when he stepped on an IED in Afghanistan.
WDEF News12 Chief Photographer David Moore takes us to the construction site at 4238 Bill Jones Road.
