A Chickamauga Police Officer is being treated Thursday night for a gunshot wound he received after answering a call for a domestic disturbance.
Officer Ira Taylor responded to a call in Chickamauga and immediately called for backup just after 5 o'clock.
A City official tells News 12 that the suspect somehow got a hold of one of the officer's weapons and shot him in the leg.
Officer Taylor's wound is not life-threatening.
The suspect than led police on a chase that ended on I-75 north at the East Ridge exit.
East Ridge police reportedly captured the man after stopping traffic on I-75.
