Dalton Stop-N-Go Customers say they're glad this man - 41 year old Health Shield Franklin - is behind bars.
Dewayne Shead, Stop-n-Go Customer, says
Officials say Franklin - a Registered Sex Offender in Whitfield County - was the store's clerk.
Dalton police were contacted after he allegedly touched a fourteen year old female customer inappropriately.
Lt. Chris Cook says
Lt. Cook says when Franklin learned the police were coming, he erased some of the surveillance videos.
Now he faces charges of tampering with evidence, three counts of sexual battery, and two counts of eavesdropping.
It's caused customers to stop and think before they pull in to the Stop N Go.
Shead says
I went to talk to the current store clerk at the Stop-N-Go on Chattanooga Road.
But so far, store representatives are keeping quiet about Franklin's history... And the allegations.
"Hopefully you all got the pervert of the street.""Officers responded and of course took the initial report of somebody working at the location. The allegation of course said he'd grabbed the buttocks of a female.""He was grabbing on fourteen year old girls, which I think is disgusting. I have a daughter of my own that just turned eighteen and I would be nervous bringing her here so I probably wouldn't come here anymore."We asked to see the surveillance videos here at the Stop N Go but the clerk said they weren't available to us. Police say though some victims might not even know that they're on camera.Lt. Cook says
Lt. Cook says Franklin allegedly pretended to be stocking shelves or brushing up against customers.
Call Dalton Police if you think you may have been a victim.
"One of the allegations is that he's taking pictures females, and right now we're looking at children all the way up to women about the age of forty that he's taking pictures of without their knowledge. Victims may not even know they're victims."
