(WDEF) The first responders in Georgia get the chance to show off their skills.
It's the 2013 Georgia Police and Fire Games.
All week, cops and firefighters compete in various physical activities.
These events include games like softball, pistol and combat shooting competitions, and many others.
We caught up with the competitors on the links today.
This is the second year Dalton's played host to this event.
Dalton Fire Chief Bruce Satterfield said, "Each year during the Police and Fire Games, no matter where its held, there is a lot of comaraderie between the two public safety agencies and that being the police agencies and the fire department agencies.  It's just a good time.  Although we may work together side by side, and do that well but it kind of takes it to a different level to actually join into a softball game or some type of competition."
The public is invited to cheer on our everyday heroes.
