SUBJECT: Multiple Burglary Arrest

On 06/02/2014 the home of Jeff Cook, a resident on Scenic Drive in Fort Payne was burglarized. The offenders entered his residence and stole multiple items to include several guitars, sports memorabilia, video camera and other camera equipment, several firearms and other assorted personal items.

As a result of a lengthy investigation by Fort Payne Detective Division, several arrests have been made and it appears that all of the stolen property has been recovered. The stolen property was recovered in the City of Fort Payne, Dekalb County, Jackson County and Montgomery, AL.

The following arrests have been made in the connection of the burglaries;

Jacob Allen Lea Age 34, of Fort Payne,
Charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd

Joshua Drew Hammonds, Age 25, of Fort Payne,
Charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd

Matthew Kevin Patterson Age 25, of Henagar,
Charged with two counts of Burglary 3rd

Derrick Lynn Martin Age 28, of Fort Payne,
Charged with one count of Receiving Stolen Property 1st.

All suspects have been transferred to the Dekalb County Jail.

Several departments have been involved to include Fort Payne Police, The Jackson County Sheriff Office, The DeKalb County Sheriff Office, and The Montgomery Police Department.

This is what happens when different jurisdictions work together and teamwork occurs.
