David Eubanks, Ft. Oglethorpe Police Chief, says
TDOT blocked off 153 at I-75 for safety reasons... As multiple law enforcement units worked to put a stop to a stand-off that ensued after a high-speed car chase.
Janice Atkinson, with the Hamilton Co. Sheriff's Department, says
According to the police report, 30 year old Aaron Crowe was intoxicated, and in possession of xanax, meth, and a firearm.
Crowe reached speeds of up to 100 miles per hour trying to outrun law enforcement.
What started as an apparent drug deal at Park Lane Apartments came to a halt here... But wasn't over yet.
Pieces of the fleeing vehicle are still on the scene where Crowe flew off the interstate and bounced up to this retaining wall. That's where he threatened his life, and the lives of police.
Forty-two times to be exact.
Eubanks says Crowe's criminal history includes carjacking, burglary, forgery and various drug charges.
With Crowe's extensive background in crime, I asked the chief where it would go from here...
Crowe is currently in the Hamilton County Jail.
