CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) - An alleged argument inside a Chattanooga parking lot leads to one man being arrested for attempted first degree murder.

According to the arrest report, Keith Rawls, 22, of Chattanooga got into an argument with Brandon Anderson, 18, of Ringgold inside the parking lot of O' Charley's Restaurant.

The argument turned into a fist fight which quickly escalated to gunshots.

According to police, Rawls was in possession of a firearm when he confronted Anderson about a dispute involving Rawls's girlfriend.

At some point, when the two men got into a fight, the gun was drawn and a single round was fired into the ground.

Rawls reportedly told police he only had the gun to scare Anderson. He then told police he purchased the gun the night before off the street from an unknown person.

Police talked to several witnesses who all identified Rawls as the person who started the incident and the person who fired the gun.

According to the report, Anderson only suffered abrasions and lacerations to the face and head but he was not shot.

Rawls now faces a total of six criminal charges including attempted first degree murder.

His bond was set at $275,000 and he is due in court June 18.
