BRADLEY CO., TN. (WDEF) -- Cleveland police say a late night shooting incident at a Lowe's store Wednesday Night was the result of a domestic dispute.
No one was hurt and the suspect is in custody.
Twenty two year old Avery Shelton is held in the Bradley county jail tonight on a million dollar bond.
Police he fired a volley of shots at a man after he shot the glass out of a front door at the Lowe's home improvement store on Paul Huff Parkway about 11:30 last night.
CAPT. DAVID BISHOP, CLEVLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT "The 911 center received a call from someone inside of Lowe's saying they had a shooter entering the store ..shots had been fired."
The employees of the store scrambled to stay out of the line of fire as the shooter.
CAPT. DAVID BISHOP "He was looking for a subject...to commit crimes against...and he was looking throughout the store..there were 11 employees throughout the store..he fired several rounds to make entry into the store and inside the store."
Investigators have not named the person who was the target of the attack, but one report indicated it was a man who had befriended Shelton's ex-wife.
Officers arrived within two minutes after the initial 911 call.
CAPT. DAVID BISHOP "Once we arrived on the scene ...our officers reacted to their training as far as the response to the active shooter" "We have excellent in store video..however that cannot be released at this time due to the on-going investigation."
Cleveland police say they will release more information on Avery Shelton ..and the motive for his attack later.
He faces one count of attempted 1st degree murder and 4 counts of reckless endangerment.
Police are still trying to determine how many shots were fire from the 9-millimeter pistol.
They say its fortunate that no one was hurt in that incident.
