MARION COUNTY, Tennessee(WDEF) -   Investigators have identified Jeffrey Mora, 31, of Hurricane Utah as the man who was killed in front of an abandoned building on Highway 41 near the Hamilton County line.

It happened Saturday Morning on the 21000 block of Highway 41.

Deputies tell WDEF that Mora was apparently beaten by his attacker and then struck by the attacker's vehicle.
According to investigators, Mora has been in the Chattanooga area for several months but they're are trying to determine why he was on the side of a highway by himself on an early Saturday morning.

"That's one of the questions that we're hoping to get some help from the public. If anyone knows anything. Why he was here or just anything that could help us on this case," said Sheriff Ronnie Burnett.

Mora has family in California and they have already been notified.

His body was transported to Nashville where it will undergo an autopsy to determine specific cause of death.

Real helpful there, Elliott. Having been arrested does not justify being murdered, and the two are completely irrelevant to one another here. You don't know this person, so please refrain from speculating based on his past mistakes. What happened here was senseless and vile, period.

Lazy will be missed by his friends here in Utah as well. Regardless of his past, he didn't deserve this. Kimberly feel free to contact us with updates to this case. We are all shocked and saddened by what has happened. RIP Lazy!
