CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) - A parolee is facing charges after a domestic dispute turned into a SWAT standoff.

It happened Tuesday afternoon on 4200 block of Autumn Lane

Officers were investigating whether Timothy Neal,44, had assaulted a woman inside the home where police were called to.

Due to Neal's past criminal history, police surrounded the house and called in the SWAT team.

"We tried to make contact but no one would let us know they were inside. We were able to come out and eventually make contact with the individual and they came out," said Sgt. Daniel Jones of the Chattanooga Police Department.

Police took Neal into custody without incident. He's accused of Domestic Violence-Simple Assault and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
