High speed chase in Cleveland injures three people

CLEVELAND, Tennessee(WDEF) -  An alleged burglary suspect led cleveland police on a high speed chase that sent three people to the hospital.

It happened around 7:40 Saturday morning near the intersection of Chambliss Avenue and 20th Street.

Officer J.R. Burnette spotted a small truck that matched the description of a suspects vehicle that was involved in a reported theft. Officer Burnette reportedly got behind the vehicle and turned on his lights to pull the driver over.

Instead of stopping, Christoper Stringer, 21, who was driving the vehicle, allegedly  kept driving at a high rate until he crashed into a minivan.

Two people inside the minivan were injured and had to be transported to Skyridge Medical Center.

A female passenger who was inside Stringer's vehicle was also injured and taken to Erlanger. She's been identified as Valerie Keller.

Stringer is now facing charges that include: felony reckless endangerment, driving on a suspended license, stop sign violation, driving without insurance, auto burglary, and theft.
His truck was impounded and stolen property was recovered from inside the vehicle.
