A grieving cousin of LaMonte Williams did not want us to show her face, but did want this message for Howard High School Principal, Paul Smith, heard loud and clear.

She says, "I want to see you on TV giving us answers."

But those answers will not come Tuesday, as Principal Smith declined our request for an interview.

Another family member weighs in.

She says, "If someone had been there to protect him, today wouldn't have been how it ended."

Family members tell us the sophomore came to school on a bus, but around ten in the morning, they believe he was chased from from the school to this abandoned home a few blocks away.

At least one girl was with him.

Family members add, "They made him get on his knees."

And that's when police believe Courtney Birt, 18, shot him.

Family members say Williams took at least one bullet to the head, execution style.

THey adds, "If they was checking him at the door, it would have never happened like that.  The only question I have for Principal Smith is where were you and the rest of the staff when the commotion happened? Where was the officer that we see when we drive by? Where was he when this happened?"

Now, Hamilton County School Superintendent Rick Smith did visit Howard High School on Tuesday, but again, did not honor our request for an interview.

Funeral arrangements have not been set up yet for Williams.

We're told he leaves behind two younger sisters.
