(WDEF)  A local sporting goods store helps 30 kids from the Hamilton Family YMCA get ready for back to school.
Academy Sports and Outdoors gave each of the kids $100 gift cards for the store.
The gift cards were good for uniforms, backpacks, shoes and other school supplies.
Academy Sports Manager Dennis Bauld said,"Oh I think it's a great thing for those that really need those school supplies and we're really pleased to be able to do something great for the community.  It's out way of being able to help out."
Gift Recipient Chris Baulder added, "We're going to get basically their uniforms, that's basically what we need, because they've got enough clothes other than uniforms, and uniforms are kind of hard to get.  They're a little more expensive."
Wednesday night's event was part of Academy's annual Back-to-School Donation.
