Six Hamilton County Schools Named Among Top 10% of Schools in Tennessee

Six Hamilton County schools make the top ten percent of schools in Tennessee.
Governor Bill Haslam made the announcement in Brentwood this afternoon.
Folks from the 169 Reward Schools watched by web broadcast.
In Hamilton County, students and staff from the honored schools joined the celebration at the Chattanooga High School Center For Creative Arts.
CCA scored
 among the top 5 percent of schools in Tennessee.
It also made the list of top Ten schools in the state. Debbie Smith, Principal Center for Creative Arts, as superintendent Smith recognized, the school um, was one that was under a microscope should it really happen and we have proven to be very successful so again I'm so proud of the work of everyone at Chattanooga High school Center for Creative Arts."
Lookout Mountain, Big Ridge, East Side, Harrison and Thrasher Elementaries have also been named reward schools.
The ranking is based best scores and improvement on last year's standardized tests.
