The morning commute in to Chattanooga could soon change for some downtown workers.

City council agreed to pursue a grant to jump start light rail service.

The money would be used to study service from Enterprise South and the Airport to the Chattanooga Choo Choo, using existing rail lines.  Service around the Highway 27 area may also be included.

The study would take about 9 months to complete.

If it proves feasible, the Enterprise South leg would cost about $20-million.
