(WDEF) Students and visitors gathered in Point Park Wednesday afternoon to honor the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington.
The Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park commemoration kicked off at 2:30pm.
Orchard Knob Elementary School fourth-graders read portions of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's "I Have a Dream" speech.
The students quoted, "From the prodigious hilltops of New Hampshire. Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York. Let freedom ring from the heightening Alleghenies of Pennsylvania!  Let freedom ring from the snow-capped Rockies of Colorado!  Let freedom ring from the curvaceous slopes of California!  But not only that; let freedom ring from Stone Mountain of Georgia!  Let freedom ring from Lookout Mountain of Tennessee!."
A bell ringing ceremony followed at 3:00pm Wednesday afternoon.
