(WDEF) TRENTON, Ga. - Work could begin soon on a construction project to resurface a large stretch of Interstate 59 in Dade County. Georgia DOT has just awarded a contract valued at nearly $10.5 million dollars for resurfacing a portion of the freeway that begins at the Alabama State line and extends to Georgia Highway 136 in Dade County, for a distance of 11.630 miles.
This construction project is scheduled to be completed by the end of February 2014, at a construction cost of $10,417,705. Information on construction and lane closure schedules on this project will be forthcoming before work begins.
