The Hamilton County Commission again tackles the issue of repeat offenders.
Commission members had asked for a list of repeat offenders in the Court system.
But the initiative was side-lined by the death of Sessions Court Judge Bob Moon.
Commissioner Fred Skillern said the problem is not just with gang members.
He talked about a man charged with stealing meat...   Skillern said the repeat offender had allegedly been charged with 90 offenses.
He said, "It's crime in general making the cost of living go up in Hamilton County because somebody has to pay for those 90 offenses.  And I would, it'd be interesting to me, and I think it'd be interesting to the public to see how much time that man has served for those 90 offenses."
Commissioner Mitch McClure added the footprint of crime in Hamilton County is expanding.

The Regular Grand Jury members ranted about this very thing for the past 20 years, but no one seemed to pay any attention. If they did, they certainly didn't do much to help correct the problem -- most didn't even acknowledge the grave concerns of the Grand Jurors. Looks like they might have finally woken up, but it may well be too late to do much more than try to play catch-up. If only elected officials would listen to the citizens every now & then, except when things reach crisis mode or during election time.....
