(WDEF)  You can help preserve the history of the Chattanooga region just by driving your car.
Tennessee unveiled a new Civil War Preservation license plate Friday.
Funds from the $70 fee go straight to the Civil War Preservation Association.
That goes to battlefield preservation and interpretation.
A portion also helps pay for the 150th anniversary of the Civil War.
But that doesn't mean you only have this summer to buy them.
Jennifer Crowell explained, "It will be sold forever.  I mean until they decide not to use it again.  We have tags that have been on sale for years and years."
The design was chosen specifically to commemorate the historical and cultural significance of the American Civil War.
