Chattanooga (WDEF) Alexian Village of Tennessee celebrates 75 years with the grand opening of its new 23 million dollar expansion.
It's a new 100,000 square foot "state of the art" Health and Rehabilitation Center.
It has 133 beds; 7 neighborhoods of 19 rooms each and some private rooms.
The neighborhoods have feature areas like a kitchen, living and dining room.
It also has a dedicated Assisted Living Memory Care neighborhood.
The center will provide "person centered care".
Alexian Village of Tennessee's President and CEO Robin Baschnagel says, "We develop a plan of care thats based on what they were used to living like at home. So they can come to us coming out of the hospital, with you know the specific need clinically which we can treat that's easy enough. But their needs are greater than that. It has to do with their quality-of-life and who they are as a person."
Alexian officials says the expansion will also boost the local economy; adding jobs and new business partners.
