CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF-TV)-- Recent healthcare scams have many people on edge about the new Affordable Care Act.

Many are not sure who to trust or who to speak with about what is best for them. Dr. Everlena Holmes is a volunteer with Enroll the Region, which aims to give you information to better prepare you to enroll in for affordable health coverage.

She and many others train leaders in Chattanooga communities and feels these are some of the people who can help you.

"You can call a medical facility," she said. "Ask you physician, ask your minister."

The goal is to inform as many people as they can. Katherine Schapshire came with questions, because she understands the importance of understanding a scam.

Schapshire said, "they're convincing and you are desperate to get care, but still you know if you have better information, you can make a better choice."

Enroll the Region will have another information session in December. They also plan to make it out in to different communities in the Chattanooga area.
