March is Colon Cancer Awareness Month, and today is national screening day for thousands of doctors around the country.
Stopcoloncancernow.com teamed up with some local doctors to urge people to get out and get a colonoscopy.
Colon Cancer is the third leading cause of cancer related deaths.
But nearly 40 percent of at-risk Americans are not getting the potentially life-saving screening.
Doctors say it is the only form of preventable cancer.
When detected in it's earliest stages, colon cancer patients have a 90 percent survival rate.
