CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee (WDEF) - According to an old saying 'April Showers brings May flowers' but the April showers at Parkridge East Hospital
brought smiles to the faces of many women who are expecting to have children in the near future.
The hospital held its annual April baby shower event to help moms-to-be prepare for the moment when they meet their new babies for the first time.
"It's an opportunity for them to get face time and one-on-one direct information from some of the best providers we have here in Chattanooga," said hospital CEO Jarrett Millsaps.
He further elaborated on the purpose of helping expecting moms who might not understand everything that's involved in having their first child.
"It's an opportunity for them to ask the question they might not necessary feel comfortable asking other family members or friends and its an opportunity to shop around to get the feel for the facility that they're choosing to have their baby," said Millsap.
More than 80 people who participated in the event took tours of the hospital, won prizes to help offset the cost of baby supplies and listened to a seminar about adjusting to the demands of life with a new baby.
