After months of delay...Chattanooga's Bike Transit system is up and rolling.
Bike Chattanooga planned to launch the system of public bikes back on April 20th.
But some kinks in the computer programming had to be worked out.
With all the bugs ironed out, the 300 bike system's now open.
The 30 people who signed up early for discounted annual memberships get their keys today.
For $6 per 24 hours...or $75 a year...riders can borrow and return bikes at one of 30 stations around the downtown Chattanooga.
Philip Pugliese, Bicycle Coordinator, City of Chattanooga, "We have people who live downtown and work downtown that will use the system, some students so a variety of people will use the system."
The Scenic City now joins locations like London, Montreal, Toronto and Washington D-C. In offering a bike transit system.
