The Empower Mentoring Program will connect Chattanooga Girls Leadership Academy students with caring adult advocates.
The mentors will provide encouragement and support in academics, college and career planning, life skills, and leadership development.
CGLA mentors will be expected to commit at least five hours per month to mentoring activities and to connect with their CGLA mentee weekly.
Mentors will assist with tutoring and homework help; building students' self-esteem; identifying resource needs; and exposing students to potential career choices and new experiences. CGLA will provide training and ongoing support to mentors throughout the program.
