The i-School initiative team came together to kick off a new program at the Saddle Ridge Schools in Walker County.
500 iPads were distributed to students in grades 3 through 8 at Saddle Ridge Elementary/Middle school.
Representatives with the program got the students excited to learn about different ways to use their new technology.
The i-School Initiative Program will tie in the training of the teachers with the students, so everyone is learning about the new technology.
Travis Allen is the President of the i-School Initiative.
"With the way our world is headed and internet access 24/7 it is an essential tool to survival moving forward. The ability to plug it in and learn it anywhere and anytime concept is so powerful for a lifelong learner."
The Principal of Saddle Ridge says this is an opportunity for the students to take charge in their learning.
