KNOXVILLE—The College of Law at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is one of the best and most affordable law schools in the nation, according to two prestigious publications.
The college has been listed in both the Princeton Review's "Best 168 Law Schools" and On Being A Black Lawyer's (OBABL) "Black Student's Guide to Law Schools."
The 2013 Princeton Review's "Best 168 Law Schools" describes UT's College of Law as "affordable, practical and blessed with a touch of Southern charm," and praises its "fleet of faculty equipped with real-world credentials to help students hone their litigation skills."
The college also is listed as one of the "10 Best Bargain Law Schools" in OBABL's 2013 "The Black Student's Guide to Law Schools." The Best Bargain honorees are described as "law schools that give students a lot of bang for their bucks, with distinguished faculty, active alumni associations and a significant number of black law students."
Doug Blaze, dean of the College of Law, said he's pleased the college has been "recognized as conscious of the financial commitment that attending law school requires as well as for our appeal with diverse students, who add so much to the character and quality of this law school."
