I'm Phil Lempert with the New Product Hits & Misses. Up first, Arnold Sandwich Thins Everything Rolls.
If you like to make sandwiches on hamburger buns or rolls but want less bread - check these out. These sandwich thins are just 100 calories and have a terrific texture and flavor. They are made from enriched wheat flour and whole wheat flour with a blend of seeds and spices. Each one also contains 2 grams of protein and 2 grams of sugars. This everything spices and seeds tastes great but I'd like to see a bit more flavor. Retails for $4.29 for 12 oz for 8 rolls.Total score is 75.
Aiya America Matcha to Go.
Matcha is a fine powder green tea from Japan considered to have more health benefits than regular green tea because it contains the whole leaf. This is all about convenience where you can take one of these packets and add it to a water bottle or into a cup of boiling water. One packet is just 10 calories and the only ingredients are matcha green tea and soluble corn fiber. The taste is a very delightful and rich tea flavor. Make sure you shake it well or you will see the clumps. One downside? The cost - $1.80 each.
Retails for $18.80 for 40g for 10 packets. Total Score is 79.
Gunshot Sauce Original Recipe is a hit.
This is not just another hot sauce, they use tomatoes instead of ketchup and horseradish root in the ingredients. The burn is nice, the texture is perfect, my only complaint is the added sugars, but in this case I'll let it slide. 20 calories in 2 tablespoons and 2 grams of sugars, but it is higher in sodium than I'd like - 460 mg. This is a great hot sauce that you could use on just about everything, every day. Retails for $5.99 for 16 oz. Total score is 89.
Slow Food for Fast Lives Cashew Cumin Cauliflower Coconut Bar is a hit.
This is one delicious snack. A recipe of cashews, cauliflower, lentils, coconut, potatoes, peas, mangoes and spices. The bar itself is chewy and you can practically see each ingredient. The slight cumin flavor makes it perfect. One bar is 180 calories, 10 grams of fat and 6 grams of sugars.
Retails for $2.50 for 40 g. Totals core is 91.
Blake's Meatloaf Dinner Casserole is the hit of the week.
This is one of the best microwaveable meatloaf I've ever had. The meatloaf itself is a recipe of ground beef, eggs, breadcrumbs, cheese, spices and vegetables. The mashed potato topping is made from red skin potatoes. This certainly is a satisfying lunch or dinner, my only recommendation is to add a bit more of the delicious gravy and a little less of the mashed potatoes, even though they are great. One serving has 11 grams of protein, 18 grams of fat and 310 calories.
Retails for $3.99 for 8 oz. Total score is 93.
