Hi I'm Phil Lempert with the New Product Hits & Misses.  Our first product receives one of the lowest scores I've ever given.

French's
Flavor Infuser 10 Minute Marinade
Caribbean Jerk Flavor and it a Big miss!
Here's a very good idea gone very bad! With the price of meats rising, many are choosing to buy less expensive cuts which need to be tenderized. One way is to marinate them to break down the proteins, which is what makes meat tough - to do this you need high acid - like vinegar or citrus juice. This product has high fructose corn syrup as its first ingredient, along with vinegar, pineapple juice and tomato paste. The taste is very salty and the mouthfeel very gelatinous. The package, while cute, is dysfunctional, just look at this mess! And remember, you'll have to remove the tip and wash it thoroughly in very hot water to avoid cross contamination. And a food safety nightmare! Retails for $2.99 for 3.5 fl oz.  Total Score 64.

Up next is
Bai
5 Calories Antioxidant Infusions
Brasilia Blueberry Flavor and it's a hit.
Looking for a low calorie, flavorful drink? Check this one out. Just 5 calories, but just 4% juice and just 1 gram of sugars. A recipe of spring water, erythritol and concentrates of blueberries, strawberries and blackberry juices creates a very tasty and aromatic beverage. They then add coffee fruit and white tea to boost the antioxidants. Just 35 mg of caffeine in 8 ounces and contains 2080mg of antioxidants from the organic coffee fruit and white tea extract combined. Retails for $2.49 for 18 fl oz.  Total Score 87.

Starfish
Gluten Free Fish Sticks
it's a hit.

Some people judge a fish stick by the breading, some judge it by the fish. You need to judge by both! And this one gets high marks for both. The outside is crispy, even after 30 minutes after cooking and the fish -  pollack, is tender, flavorful and not fishy at all. The fact that this is gluten free and the fish is sustainably harvested make it even better. retails for $4.99 for 9 oz.  Total Score 89.

Califia Farms
Pure Almond Milk
Toasted Coconut
is our hit of the week.
Another alternative for those who want to avoid cow's milk or soy milk, this is delicious, with just a hint of coconut flavor from coconut cream. Frankly I like more coconut flavor and maybe even a bit of coconut pulp? Just 50 calories in 8 ounces, with 4 1/2 grams of fat, but it does have 160 mg of sodium. The downside is that there is only 1 gram of protein. The upside is the entire family will enjoy it. Retails for $3.99 for 48 fl oz.  Total Score
92.
