Hi, I'm Phil Lepert with the New Product Hits & Misses.

First up is
Great Tasting Energy
Peanut Butter flavor.
When are we going to learn how to get energy from real food? Each one of these "candies" contains 25 mg of caffeine and 15 calories, along with niacinamide and vitamins B6 and B12. It tastes like a big M & M with the hard outer shell, milk chocolate and just a hint of peanut butter. Frankly I'll stick to black coffee.
Retails for $3.29 for 1.13 oz.  Total Score is 80.

Natural Green Tea
Asian Pear Flavor
and it's a hit.
How cute is the brand name? Not! The drink itself, which contains only 2% juice, is very tasty. The natural pear flavor does mask the green tea so it is a good product for people who want the benefits of green tea but don't like the taste. The other ingredients are cane sugar, lemon juice concentrate and stevia. One bottle is 80 calories and 22 grams of sugars.  Retails for $2.29 for 16 fl oz.  Total Score is 86.

Good Belly
Carrot Ginger Flavor
is a hit.
We all know how important probiotics are - most are found in dairy products - so what if you just don't want another cup of yogurt? This drink, which is 40% juice contains the probiotic lactobacillus plantarium 299V for digestive health. The drink itself has a good carrot flavor, but I barely taste the ginger. An 8 oz glass is just 80 calories and does contain 17 grams of sugars, both naturally occurring and from the added cane sugar.  Retails for $3.69 for 32 oz.  Total Score is 88.

Up next is
Limited Batch Everything Flavor
and it's a hit.
Now I've seen everything - a 'Limited Batch' hummus? This hummus brand itself, as we've reported before is excellent. This one adds the same toppings that you would find on an everything bagel - including garlic, salt, sesame seeds, onion and poppy seeds, which does add a nice texture and flavor.  Retails for $3.49 for 8 oz.  Total score is 90.

And finally,
Balance Bar
Dark Chocolate Coconut
and it's the hit of the week.
This Balance Bar which is soy protein based is delicious. Just the right amount of coconut gives it a unique flavor and almost tastes like a candy bar, but remember, in addition to the 13 grams of protein and 4 grams of dietary fiber you're also getting 12 grams of sugars. The recipe is built around 40% of calories from carbs, 30% from protein and 30% from fiber. Retails for $1.49 for a 1.58 oz bar.  Total score is 91.
