I'm Phil Lempert with the New Product Hits & Misses. First up,

Gevalia Kaffe

House Blend Ground.

Gevalia's been around well over 100 years and they do have a good coffee, but it's not great. The aroma was lacking at best and the flavor, while very smooth, is bland. While the package touts its Swedish heritage every chance they can, nowhere does it state where the beans come from. Last time I looked there weren't any coffee trees in Sweden. Retails for $8.39 for 12 oz. Total Score is 80.

Bixby Bar

Chocolate Bar

WhipperSnapper Flavor is our first hit.

This is a line of dark chocolate with very interesting ingredients. WhipperSnapper is dark chocolate with 72% cacao, walnuts, wild Maine blueberries and Tellicherry black pepper. The chocolate itself is fabulous and the walnuts add some crunch, but to be honest with you I didn't taste any blueberries or black pepper. This product seems to be doing everything right with its Rainforest Alliance sourcing, being gluten free and using real sugars. Just need a little tweak on the flavor side. Retails for $2.99 for 1.5 oz. Total Score 89

Organic Gluten-Free Cookies

Coconut Oatmeal Bliss is a hit.

This is one great cookie - you can taste the coconut and the oatmeal. One cookie does have 4 grams of sugars and 4 1/2 grams of fat, but is well worth it. The texture is slightly crispy and you can see almost every ingredient. It's gluten free, it's organic and absolutely delicious. And I love the fact that there are two sealed inner packs - to keep them fresh and to keep me from eating the entire package. Retails for $6.99 for 7 oz. Total Score is 91.

Up next,

Farm to Market

Single Barrel Pickles

Bloody Mary Flavor is a hit

If you like pickles and spice you've got to try these. The recipe is an excellent balance between the vinegar and the garlic - and an intense spice flavor. The pickles aren't as crunchy as I'd hoped, but I'm sure it's the acid in the tomatoes that is making them a little too soft. The slow burn from the spices is excellent. While I wouldn't take the brine and add vodka to it to make a Bloody Mary, I have little doubt it would be one of the best Bloody Marys I've had. Retails for $4.99 for 24 fl oz. Total Score is 92.

Last up,

Organic Falafel Chips -Spicy,

and it's the hit of the week

If you like chips and you like spice this is for you. These chips are made from corn and a combination of chick peas, fava beans, black beans or pinto beans. The crunch is perfect but yet the chip is strong enough to dip. The flavor is exceptional so make sure whatever dip you use doesn't interfere. Ten chips are just 6 grams of fat and get this just 79 mg of sodium with 3 grams of protein. I promise try these and you'll be convinced. Retails for 4.99 for 8 oz. Total score 94.
