I’m Phil Lempert with the New Product Hits & Misses.

Up first, La Tortilla Factory Low Carb High Fiber Tortillas.

Remember low carb? Well it's back, at least in tortillas. These are wheat based - the traditional style of flour tortilla - and only 70 calories each with 5 grams of protein. The taste is excellent and not too bready the way some packaged tortillas can be. The texture is perfect for folding and take a look they actually show different ways to fold.  Retails for $4.59 for (8 tortillas) 11.85 oz.  Total Score is 83.

Pirate Jonny's BBQ Curry Rub is a hit.

Don't let the fact that brown sugar is the first ingredient fool you. This has a nice curry and peppery flavor and you can hardly taste the sugar, which actually gives it a nice crunchy texture. But remember, as with any rub or sauce that contains sugar it can easily burn in cooking, so my recommendation is to sprinkle it on foods that have already been cooked to add flavor. One teaspoon is just 20 calories with 3 grams of sugars and 180 mg of sodium.  Retails for $5.99 for 3 oz.  Total Score is 86.

Trujoy Sweets Organic Fruit Chews  Original Flavor is a hit.

If you're looking for an organic version of Starburst check this out. These chews are 20 calories each and about 2 1/2 grams of sugars each. Not as sweet as Starburst, which is a good thing, but also doesn't have the same intense flavor. Each package is supposed to contain all 4 flavors, orange, cherry, lemon and strawberry, but in one package I opened there were 7 lemon, 4 orange, 1 cherry and no strawberry at all. In another package there were 6 strawberry, 3 orange and 1 lemon. C'mon get some consistency if you're going to offer an assorted flavor pack.  Retails for $2.89 for 1.6 oz.  Total Score is 89.

Pompeian Varietals Extra Virgin Olive Oil Koronieki Variety is a hit.

I was impressed when I saw on the label that this extra virgin olive oil had acidity of less than 1/2 of one percent. To be considered extra virgin it must be 1% or less. The aroma is disappointing and although they say the flavor is full bodied it does have a fresh tasting flavor. The blend of olive oil from Greece and Chile makes it blander than many other extra virgin olive oils. If you're looking for a mild olive oil, but don't like the extra light varieties this could be for you. Koronieki is a Greek variety of olive, which is very small with a very high level of polyphenols.  Retails for $6.99 for 16 fl oz.  Total Score is 90.

Kuli Kuli Moringa Superfood Bar Black Cherry Flavor is the hit of the week.

This could actually be one of the best bars you've ever had. Very simple ingredients, cherries, almonds, dates, agave and moringa. Nothing more. Moringa is an herb plant grown for its highly nutritious vitamin and protein rich greens, flowers, and mineral-rich pods. The flavor is terrific and actually has a note of black tea, which is not only unusual, but delightful. One bar is 190 calories, 9 grams of fat from the almonds, 5 grams of protein and 16 grams of sugars.  Retails for $2.89 for 1.6 oz.  Total Score is 91.
