Diane, Rossville GA  02-12-14
She's a hard worker, a great partner, she's beautiful but most of all she loves me and I love her. She's been my valentine 36 years and wife for 34 years thanks, Diane.
Tam, Dunlap TN  02-10-14
My wife and I met in the summer of 1994. I was tired of being rejected and made the decision that if God had someone for me, she would have to ask me. She on the other hand had been in some bad relationships and said that she was going to take the initiative and ask the right guy when she met him. We met at a church camp in South Carolina in July and hit it off immediately. Even after she got to know me me, she ask me to marry her 3 days after we met. We married 5 months later (January 7th). Here it is 19 years and 5 kids later. She is an amazing person. She puts everyone else's needs before herself and gets mad when I try to do things for her. She is a hard worker and is always willing to try something new. We both work at the church with her as the janitor and teacher for classes and me in the office. She always has time to help anyone in need. I try to show her how much I love her whether it be singing or poetry but I can never do justice for what she deserves. Even through all my mistakes she has stayed beside me. She keeps me grounded and in the right direction. If she wasn't there, I would be a mess. She even jokes that God put us together for my needs more than hers but I actually agree 100% with that. If you get the chance to meet her, you will see how wonderful she is and how lucky I am. I am glad that God put the right woman in my life. Please help me spoil here the way I know she deserves.
Misty, Chatsworth GA  02-08-14
She walked into my life almost 20 years ago and changed me for the better. Over the years, she has been my saving grace, my best friend, and definitely my better half. I decided to nominate my wife to show her how much I truly appreciate everything she does for me. I honestly do not know where or who I'd be today if it wasn't for her. She has blessed me with two beautiful, smart kids. She never ceases to amaze me with her generosity toward others. I can honestly say God has blessed me with the most amazing woman to call my wife.
David, Dalton GA  02-06-14
David is the sweetest, hardest working, caring, strongest, gentlest man I have ever known. You can ask him how he is and he will respond, "excellent, excellent", no matter how he truly feels. He opens doors for me, stops at the steps and gives me a kiss every time we go out somewhere. Kisses me bye when he goes to work. Holds my pinky finger always when we are in the car together. Calls me his sweet little puddingpop. And I am not a little person (I am a big girl) lol. And I call him my sweet little darling, honey, angel baby. He is my knight in shining armor. He is my Sir. Phred. I thank God for him everyday. I am so fortunate to have him in my life.
Julie, Cordova TN  02-05-14
My wife and I began dating when our kids were very young. Today our oldest son has graduated from college as a Second Lieutenant with the Army and is planning on getting married in October; he chose to come live with us when he was 12. Our daughter will finish college this December with her degree in Special Education and will pursue a career in teaching. Our youngest son will also graduate from college in May as a Second Lieutenant in the Army; he chose to come live with us when he was 14 also. I have traveled and worked out of town most of the time so she has basically raised the kids by herself. This April 2 years ago my Mom became ill and my Dad had been diagnosed having Alzheimer’s which requires constant monitoring. My wife suggested that he comes to live with us so we could get him in an Alzheimer’s Program. I now work here in Soddy Daisy and she works in Memphis where my Dad stays with her and we commute back and forth but most of the time her and my dad comes here on weekends. All this she has done along with the issues I have put her through. She continues to have a kind and giving heart through all this. I’m not sure where we would be without her in our lives. She is my best friend and definitely the best thing that has ever happened to me. I Love her more than she can imagine.
Chester, Riceville TN  02-04-14
God did it!...I have only known my husband since May 2013 and we got married on Sept 16, 2013. Yes just a few months later. We met when I served as the guest speaker for his church Women's Department one Sunday morning. We were introduced by his pastor and I thought surely this will just be a great opportunity to make a new friend. But I must say "God moves in mysterious ways" is so true about our relationship. After just a few months of marriage I can honestly say I have the best husband ever. He is attentive, he listens and he responds to my every want and need. He is a hard worker, awesome father and a wonderful man. There is no one who could be more perfect for me and no one who deserves to spoiled more than him. He gives so much not just to me and our family but to anyone who he comes in contact with. Thank you for this opportunity to share about a wonderful man!!
Ali, Cleveland TN  02-04-14
Ali has dedicated herself to maintaining my happiness and the happiness of our two wonderful boys, Ian and Owen. Two years ago she moved three hours away from her home and everyone she knows so that I could attend school at ETSU. While I was in class, she was at home taking care of the boys. I know it wasn't easy for her to only have an energetic toddler and a newborn baby for company but she persevered and, thanks to her, I now have my Bachelor's in Mass Communication. We're finally back home and I'd love to be able to spoil her this Valentine's Day to show her how much I appreciate her love, support and selflessness.
James, Soddy Daisy TN  02-04-14
I am nominating my wonderful husband. We were sweethearts 17 years ago and found each other again. We have been married for a year. In the past year, he has been a wonderful husband to me and an amazing father to his children, as well as my daughter. He even continued watching his mother for the last year due to an illness. All of this, while working his full time job. My father passed this year and my husband stood by me every step of the way. He is truly an amazing man in a world where many people do not care about their families, their children, or their parents! My husband is kind, gentle, caring, loyal, and noble! I am extremely lucky to have found him again! If he is not selected, he is still one of a kind and the best Valentine a lady could ask for 365 days a year, not just February 14th!
Anna, Chatsworth GA  02-04-14
This wonderful woman picked me. I can't imagine why she chose to spend the rest of her life with me, but I'm thankful everyday that she did. She's a wonderful mother to our child, strong, smart, kind, and beautiful, inside and out. I couldn't ask for more. I love her with everything I have, heart and soul. I couldn't imagine my life without her. Her and my daughter are my reason for getting up in the morning. She's the peanut butter to my jelly. The ying to my yang. The best thing that ever happened to me. She makes me a better person, and for that I could never thank her enough. I love you Anna! <3
Rick, Dalton GA  02-04-14
My husband is truly the most amazing man in the world, we have been married for 3 years and not a single day has gone by that he hasn't told or shown me how much he loves me, This man has brought me out of some of the most difficult times in my life and he gave me a life worth living for, To us everyday is Valentines Day.
Chris, Chattanooga TN  02-03-14
I nominate my husband. We've been together since he was 15, he is now 22. We have two kids. No matter the hardship he has always been by my side. And I know he will always be. And I'd love to show him just how much I love him through this nomination.
Karen, LaFayette GA  01-31-14
My wife of nearly 19 years has been so good to me. When I was sick for more than eight years, she took care of me (which was a very exhausting task both physically and mentally); she also worked full time and took care of our three children, never taking time for herself. She is a remarkable woman and I am so blessed to have her as my wife. I have always wanted to express to her all that she means to me and spoiling her is just one way. February 14th, Valentine's Day, is also her birthday!
Vickie, Ringgold GA  01-30-14
It's a Wonderful Life...It's a Wonderful Wife that makes Valentines Day special. I proposed to Vickie on Valentines Day 1980 in the Chattanooga Times with a half page original poem. Since then there has been billboards, hot air balloons, an airplane pulling a banner and tv commercials. Even a special message on the Goodyear Blimp. She is truly a special person, and I want everyone to know. Thank You !!!

Danny, Old Fort TN  01-30-14
We met online & started dating August 2013. We have so much in common & only live 7 miles apart, he in Tn & me in Ga. I quickly fell head over heels cause he's so cute, got a great personality, witty, drove a diesel pickup and is a truck driver. I have been a nurse for 21 years but followed my childhood dream when my son went to college, so I became a truck driver. We both went to the same truck driving school in Murfreesboro only he went earlier than me. He's been married 3x, I've been divorced for 20 years. I can't believe he would want to attempt love again but he did. We're perfect together. We got engaged on the Riverboat this past October 4th(10/4 is ok for cb lingo). We're getting married Valentines @ Ringgold. If it's Good enough for Dolly, it's good enough for us!

Jim, Cleveland TN  01-30-14
My Husband is the Best. When we first met 37 years ago, I had just broke up with my boyfriend at the time. Jim asked me to go out with him. We went to Dinner & a Drive In Movie. Between Movies Jim put his head in my lap & said " I'm going to Marry You!. I was like you don't even know me!!. I moved away & we wrote each other letters about every day. In Jan. 1977 Jim asked me How I would like to be Mrs. Jim McCrary? I told Jim I did not Love him however I did respect him & that Yes I would Marry him. Jim had faith in us. Here we are almost 37 years later & still Married.. I Thank God every day for giving me a Great Guy.. Jim knew he had enough Love for both of us. He really has been a Gift from God. Jim would do anything on this earth for Me, and in return I would do anything for him.
Jim had been a Owner/Operator Truck Driver for 20+ years. Last year he sold his Truck & we began a new chapter in our Lives. A lot has changed in our lives this past year for the Good. For everything that we have experienced in the past 36 years we would not change a thing!!.
Thanks for giving Everyone this experience of Sharing our Love Moments.

Tim, Chattanooga TN  01-30-14

Melanie, Ooltewah TN  01-29-14
The best wife a man could ask for, very loving, committed, faithful and a loving mother... who could ask for more.

Taylor, Hixson  01-27-14
My son, Taylor, has been my Valentine since he was a little boy. Over the years, we have had many exchanges of gifts, ice cream sodas and movie dates. I want to nominate my valentine because of the young, compassionate man he has become. His smile is contagious. His humor is just like his moms! His integrity is something to be admired! His passion for life and reaching his goals are something to be admired. I know I we don't celebrate the same ways we used to but one thing I know for sure... I am proud and love my Valentine very much. And in his very words from Valentines Day a few years ago, "No matter what girl is in my life you will always be my Valentine momma!"

Todd, East Ridge TN  01-23-14
I have the most special husband. I had to endure 2 major surgeries that required me to have to sleep on the couch for a total of over 6 weeks. During the 1st surgery, Todd slept on the floor next to me so I wouldn't be alone & so he would be there if I needed anything. He also took on the responsibility of cleaning out tubing, changing gauze & doing everything for me & our family. On my 2nd surgery he slept on the air mattress in the floor because I couldn't get up & down by myself at all. Once again he took care of everything. He never complained one time & I never felt like I was a bother. He is a very special man who is the love of my life. We dated in high school, but after he graduated we went our separate ways, only to find each other 25 years later. He treats my children like they are his own. I couldn't ask for any more. We will celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary in May. He really & truly deserves this!

Armpernellia, Chattanooga TN  01-22-14

My nomination go's to my mother who has been there for me in all that I been though and everyone in her family.

Dewayne, Decatur TN  01-21-14
I nominate my wonderful husband Dewayne. He's a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He has done so much to help his step children and step grandchildren and his son. I think he deserves to be spoiled for Valentine's day. God has blessed me with this wonderful man. A God minded man with a tender heart and enough love for all around him.

Throw his butt back in jail. Cause when someone is hiding a fugitive or not telling where someone is they get in trouble and threw in jail. So, throw him back in there till he offers to tell where the dog is. He is a SICK whatever you want to call him he sure isn't human. Shame shame on you.The law may just smack you on the wrist and pay your fines. But it isn't this law you have to worry about it's GOD'S LAW GOD'S ANIMAL. And yes you might get by with it till whenever but when the Lord has his hand in it it's going to be 10 fold...And this is sick beating a helpless dog. You might think you are all that but to beat a animal it makes ever who is doing it a little boy..

Tennessee is the worst state for yielding to emergency vehicles. They will pull over in a heartbeat for a funeral, but refuse to pull over, yield or stop for a fire truck, ambulance or police car. I have seen multiple occasions where drivers have cut off, sped up, or just refused to move for emergency vehicles. This is not only common sense, it is one of the first things you learn in drivers training. NOTHING you are doing, is more important than the lives of those needing the assistance, and your own if you fail to yield. If you can show respect to the dead, do it while they are alive. Listen, yield, pullover and stop. It will NOT kill you to wait out two green lights for emergency vehicles to get through. It just may if you don't.

Teachers you break you pay, simply put. I have to buy my own laptops, and pda's and phones myself to use in my business. Why should I as a taxpayer keep paying for your damages. It is called personal responsibility that we need to teach our children! It is a small price I am sure for the insurance on the devices. Or simply leave them at school in a locked drawer when not in use.

I would like to add a comment for the elected officials why don't you ask Volkswagen about ECM Update 23N5 and see if you get a response from this trustworthy company, I suspect mine and all the elected officials voicing so much concern will need to only look to the headlines and see. Let me give a little history in 2014 My wife and I were shopping for much more FUEL EFFICIENT vehicle seeing that ours at the time was a heavy SUV, so we set out on our journey after many Toyota's,Honda's etc. we settled in on a VW Passat myself being a former Diesel mechanic was impressed by the numbers MPG, Performance, and German engineering diesel, so away with the gas guzzling suv and hello to a performance driven diesel sipper, Straight out of the gates this car delivered 44-49 MPG a trip to the beach and home less than a hundred dollars, on and on we thought wow and we can tell everyone that it was built right here in our Hometown Chattanooga Tennessee, I even would try to rationalize the incentives for VW to build here and then came my January 08 2015 visit to Village VW for squeaky rotors in which they obliged in fixing somewhat, but on my invoice was an ECM update along with de-glazing but back to that update, as one who keeps a pretty good eye on fuel mileage I started to notice a difference much more noticeable performance lagging than what we had before and then fast forward till 9/21/2015 at the news story right now, and it hit me Volkswagen knew all along and were trying to adjust the ECM parameters on my TDI ALONG WITH THOUSANDS OF OTHERS NO DOUBT, so if you are Reading this what they more than likely did was adjust the parameters on Turbo spooling, Injection timing, and ADBLUE SCR or an increase in DEF NOX solution to bring emissions down more in line with what the Feds were looking for which Obviously did not Happen "SO MUCH FOR DAS AUTO" by the way not an engineer just a lowly former wrench monkey (RECALL-23N5)

Not mine, VW can do anything they want but I for one will never step foot back in a VW dealership. When we purchased our Chattanooga made Passat in 2014 the very reason we bought it was the fuel economy trade off and performance, now because of this decision we have $24000.00 reasons to be completely sick, nobody in their right mind will ever want one of these cars, we will not be able to sale it, trade it in without practically giving it to them the value of our car is completely ruined oh yes we will have to drive from now on but VW will never garner no support from me ever again. I PERSONALLY HOPE THEY ARE FORCED OUT OF CHATTANOOGA for performing such a deceitful practice and leaving myself and many other "Clean Diesel" car owners left holding the bag. How does it feel Tennessee I for one am eating crow, who was on the VW bus, think about it 168 million plus in incentives to produce this a cheating, lying, piece of junk. Thanks Volkswagen A Chattanooga Passat owner

There was a rash of home burglaries near my grandmother's home and it had me pretty worried about her. A friend told me about this little wireless home surveillance camera. It's triggered by motion detection, and you can view it from your phone. It's been a real weight off my back to know it's there. http://fergsbackyard.com/easy-home-security-system/

Just for the record, the Neighborhood Associations were here before the TVA grant. We were proactively seeking help and improving our neighborhood. Impact Cleveland has made huge gains for us here in the Blythe Oldfield Community and we appreciate and thank Dustin for his achievements on our behalf. Not every home here is falling apart but we view this neighborhood as historically signifigant as it is a strong link to a working class history and the families here worked to found Cleveland as a community. We feel the homes have a cultural significance and we value the past and look to the future here, and at close to 100 years old...you'd be looking for a facelift, and maybe some bodywork, too. Blythe Oldfield thanks the City of Cleveland as it works with BOCA to restore the neighborhood's park and we thank Impact Cleveland and United Way BC for all their assistance in helping found a Community Garden, Neighborhood Watch and for many other projects. Many people have donated volunteer hours and assisted in so many ways. We want to thank everyone, you touch lives! Blythe Oldfield neighbors have the first and only neighborhood recycling center in Cleveland. Money raised via Cocacola recycling for the community goes into paper to the Blythe chapter of the Boys and Girls Club. BOCA neighbors are also starting the first building mural in Cleveland. The 102 ft long mural will showcase neighbors and is neighborhood lead. The murals positive message will say, "We can do what we imagine." With the history of this neighborhood and the passion of the community, you can bet that we will do what we imagine. Thank you again, all the partners and neighbors who make this happen.
